Adopt A
Little Muffin
Adoption Process
Step 1: The first step to adopting from Little Muffins Kitten Rescue is fill out our adoption application. This will allow us to match you with the perfect little muffin(s) to complete your family! You can find our application below or go to it directly here.

Please thoroughly read the following adoption information prior to applying
-
Have all of your current pets been to the vet within the last 12 months for their annual check up and yearly vaccinations? If not, please schedule their vet appointments and get them updated before filling out our adoption application.
-
Our rescue is based out of our home in Richmond, KY. Please make sure you are able to travel here to pick up your new family member(s).
-
Kittens do best in pairs! For this reason, we typically adopt out our kittens in pairs unless you already have a young, playful cat at home to be their companion.
-
All applicants must be 18+ years old and the person applying must be the primary caretaker of the cat(s)/kitten(s).
-
Every little muffin cat/kitten will go home with their health records and are dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative unless otherwise noted, and spayed/neutered.
-
Our adoption fee is $150 for kittens and $90 for adults which helps to cover some of the cost of vetting and allows us to save more cats/kittens!

Once you have filled out our application, we will review it and get back to you as soon as possible. Please be patient while we are taking the time to review applications. We may receive several applications for the same cat/kitten so filling out an application is not a guarantee that you will get to adopt a particular cat/kitten, however if you are approved we will keep you on our contact list to match with future little muffins!

Step 2: If you are approved to adopt from our rescue, it is then time to match you with the little muffin of your dreams! We post lots of updates on all of our current babies on our Facebook and Instagram pages so we encourage you to check there to learn more about each of their personalities. We are always happy to chat about each of our kittens/cats to help determine who would be the best fit for you! We are also available to do video chats and possibly even plan a meeting in person after your application is approved.

Step 3: The next step is to prepare for your kitten! This includes buying supplies (litter box, litter, food, toys, etc.) and setting up a quiet space for your kitten(s) to spend their first 1-2 weeks (a spare room or bathroom works well for this). You will also want to schedule an appointment with your vet.
Kittens will be spayed/neutered at 12 weeks old and will be available to go home after a short recovery period. Adult cats will also be available shortly after their scheduled spay/neuter.

Step 4: Finally, it is time to pick up your cat/kitten! By the time of pick up, our adoption contract must be signed and the adoption fee will be due. These fees only cover some of the cost of caring for and vetting the rescue kitties, so if you are also able to make an additional donation to our rescue that is always greatly appreciated! All donations go directly towards the care of the little muffin cats/kittens and allow us to afford the expenses of dry/wet food, litter, toys, other supplies, as well as routine and emergency vet care.

We have poured our hearts into each of the cats/kittens that we rescue, so we love staying in touch with families to receive updates!
