Our Mission
Little Muffins Kitten Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) home and foster based cat rescue founded by three sisters in May of 2023. We are dedicated to helping cats and kittens in need in Richmond, KY and surrounding areas by giving them a safe place to stay and providing them with veterinary care while we work diligently to find each cat/kitten their perfect match. We also hope to do community outreach by hosting events, sharing educational information, and spreading awareness about the importance of spay/neuter in our community to help reduce the number of cats and kittens entering shelters.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I adopt?
The first step to adopting is filling out our adoption application here. Applications usually take 1-3 business days to be processed, but our volunteer team is small so if we are especially busy it could take longer.

What are the adoption fees?
Our adoption fee is $150 for kittens and $90 for adults which helps to cover some of the cost of vetting and allows us to save more cats/kittens! We offer lower adoption fees for adopting pairs! A pair of kittens is $250, a momma and kitten pair is $200, and a pair of bonded adult cats is $150.

Is there a rescue location where I can visit the adoptable cats?
No, we don’t have a location open to the public. However, with an approved application meet and greets can be scheduled with our kitties! Little Muffins Kitten Rescue is a home and foster based rescue so all of our cats and kittens are housed and cared for by loving volunteers.

Where does the money to care for the rescue cats come from?
Adoption fees and donations! Adoption fees are our primary fund source. However, they rarely cover the cost of caring for each of our kitties, so what we do wouldn’t be possible without donations. Oftentimes our co-founders support the costs with their personal donations.

Where do the cats come from?
Little Muffins Kitten Rescue primarily helps friendly stray cats and kittens from Madison County, KY. Nearly everyday we receive messages from caring citizens about cats and kittens in need and sadly we are unable to help them all. Most are struggling to survive outdoors and it is rare for them not to be malnourished, riddled with fleas & parasites, and suffering from infections or injuries when we intake them. 75% of kittens born outside don’t live to 6 months old and the adult cats living outdoors normally only live 2-5 years.
